Qudi launched the world’s first emotional LED mask, at the CES 2022 event. This mask is made of see-through glasses attached to a mouthpiece containing 199 pixel smart LEDs.
This mask has several modes which will display different LED screens. In robot mode, Qudi Mask will respond to a speech and will show one of six emotions, namely love, smile, surprise, confusion, anger, or a cat face. The Qudi Mask also reacts to head movements that signal yes or no.
In equalizer mode, the mask will respond to the volume of the music being played, while in demo mode, the mask will switch between 12 different round-in animations. Animations can be changed manually using the touch buttons on the mask control unit or via the Qudi app.
The prototype will only cover half the face and have an LED containing 30 pixels, Qudi founder Mikhail Chumachenko said in an interview with the Odessa Journal. For a year, he improved the firmware and mask design, Mikhail and the team added more animations and the ability to adjust microphone brightness and sensitivity. The Qudi Mask is currently available for purchase and is priced at $289.
