For the first time, the tough variant of the popular SUV was launched. available in Europe, extending the Adventure range next to the Yaris Cross. The 2022 RAV4 Adventure gets the same bumper design as the US-spec Adventure model, setting it apart from the rest of the EU-spec lineup thanks to the different grille, intakes, and silver skid plates at the front and rear. As a reminder, a similar design was used on the 2017 Toyota FT-AC Concept featuring the fourth-generation RAV4.
The latest for the 2022 RAV4 in Europe are the redesigned LED headlight graphics along with the LED fog lamps. The Adventure also gets a bi-tone Urban Khaki/Dynamic gray paint reminiscent of the FJ40 Land Cruiser, wider wheel arches, and a set of 19-inch matt gray wheels. For the hybrid and regular petrol variants, Toyota has designed a new set of 10 spokes allowing the wheels to be finished in bright silver (Mid grade) or gloss black (Style grade).
Inside, the new RAV4 Adventure features black synthetic leather seats with upholstered seat surfaces and orange stitching, as well as a special set of scuff plates. Additionally, the entire RAV4 lineup will benefit from the addition of a power-adjustable standard front passenger seat, an illuminated window control switch, and a new USB-C port for charging your devices.
As expected, there are no surprises under the hood of the 2022 RAV4 Adventure: there you’ll find Toyota’s fourth-generation hybrid electric technology and the standard AWD-i system. The powertrain combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors, for a system output of 219 hp (163 kW / 222 PS) and 221 Nm (163 lb-ft) of torque. Toyota announced a braked towing capacity of 1,650 kg for the RAV4 Hybrid AWD-i. First deliveries of the new 2022 Toyota RAV4 Adventure and the rest of the RAV4 model range are expected for the first quarter of 2022 in Europe.
